TTU Junction Llano River Field Station
2015 March and April Activity Summary

• Guadalupe Bass research brought 4 grad students to the field station for a total of 8 days in March
• Outdoor School hosted Regan County ISD with 42 students and teachers in attendance for 2 days
• OLLI broadcast on Memory Loss
• OLLI  - Birds of Central Texas – facilitated by Dr. Kent Rylander brought 10 people to the field station and State Park
• Outdoor School hosted JISD’s 5th graders for a day of outdoor learning during Spring Break; 13 attended
• Texas A&M Forest Service held their Academy 5 training certification course at the field station with 16 students and 4 instructors for 2 weeks
• OLLI broadcast on Meuseback, A Man of Character
• Department of Natural Resource Management (NRM) came for a site visit prior to bringing a TTU Freshman class field trip of 100 students to the station for 2 days
• The annual TTU Outdoor Pursuits Wilderness 1st Responder Training Workshop took place over Spring Break with 18 people attending for 10 days
• The Junction Volunteer Fire Department held their annual banquet with about 40 people in attendance
• Oasis Pipeline Fire meeting was held with 25 in attendance.  Sack lunches were served to the participants as the group of experts traveled to the Oasis Pipeline fire location to assess the damage 4 years later.  A public meeting will be held at the field station in mid-April with approx. 75 people expected
• The Region 4 Area Clerks Spring Meeting was held at the center with about 50 people in attendance including vendors.  Pastries, lunch and snacks were served by TTU and door prizes, donated by local businesses, were won by those in attendance
• Outdoor School hosted Nueces Canyon ISD for a day long excursion with 15 students and teachers in attendance
• OLLI board meeting was held with 3 in attendance

• Outdoor School hosted Menard ISD for a day long excursion with about 23 students and teachers in attendance
• Guadalupe Bass research continues with 3 grad students on center for 5 days
• Outdoor School to host Stonewall ISD for a 3 day/2 night academy bringing approximately 25 students and teachers to the station
• Outdoor School to host Fannin Elementary School from San Angelo, for a 3 day/2 night academy expecting approx. 35 students and teachers to attend
• TTU Health Science Center Global Health class of approx. 75 will attend a weekend retreat
• Outdoor School will host Trent ISD for a 3 day/2 night academy expecting approx. 20 students and teachers to attend
• TPWD will hold a 2 day meeting in mid-April for approx. 20 people which will include a kayak trip on the South Llano River to assess various research projects along the river, i.e. Elephant plant eradication 
• OLLI broadcast – Generation Gap – Bridging the Gap Across the Ages
• CISER (Center for the Integration of STEM Education & Research) will hold their annual retreat one weekend in April with approx. 40 students and faculty in attendance
• NRM will bring the 2nd Freshman class of 100 to the center for a two day field trip
• Oasis Pipeline Fire public meeting will meet at the center on April 18th to hear speakers and travel to the site to assess the fire damage from 4 years ago.  Approx. 75 are expected to attend
• OLLI will host Dr. Jerod Foster for a hands-on Wildlife Photography course at the center on April 18th.  Approx. 25 are expected to register
• Outdoor School will host Eden High School for a 1 day excursion with approx. 16 students and teachers in attendance
• Outdoor School will host St. Mary’s Catholic School, from Fredericksburg, for a 3 day/2 night academy which will bring approx. 30 students and teachers to the center
• NRM will bring the 3rd group of Freshman students to the center for a 2 day field trip; 100 are expected
• NRM professor, Allison Pease, will bring a class of 18 students to the center for a 3 day weekend field trip
